statistical software

Statist is very easy to use. Although it doesn't have a graphical user interface, there is no need to memorize commands because it has an interactive menu. Currently (March 2006), I'm the maintainer of statist. Please, access the official statist home page. Other interesting software are gretl (if you want a software that include the commands in a graphical menu and toolbar) and R with JGR (if you need to do complex statistical analysis and data manipulation).

Statist has the ability of reading files with fixed width formatted data and can be used as an alternative to R's function read.fwf().
